Simple Analysis of Dynamic Location Update Schemes in Cellular Wireless Networks
We present a simple first order analysis comparing three dynamic location update schemes that have been proposed for mobility management in cellular networks. The analysis is used to compare the relative performance of the three schemes and to illustrate the tradeoff between the costs of frequent location updates and paging.
